Need a little help from my friends

I'm just about ready to start passing out copies of the manuscript I've been working on for the past year (or so) before submitting it to the publisher. Of course its about the subject at hand (mormon pioneer food). My main concern is that the tone I use might be off-putting to some, boring to others, etc. And as I've been thinking about it, I imagine that you folks out there are the main audience I would want to attract. But I really don't know you much at all. And out of the last five posts I've written, not a single comment. So sometimes I wonder if I'm just missing the mark entirely.

How about if a few of you just take a minute to introduce yourselves a bit in the comments section, and tell us a bit about what sort of cooking you do, and what interests you most in this conversation. Thanks!

Oh Brock, I'm sorry I haven't been reading your blog. I actually love reading your blog! I'm studying for my Theory exam in the morning, and can't WAIT for it to be over, so I can be a more diligent blog reader. I'm pretty sure I'm done studying, so now that it's midnight, I'm going to start a new blog, so I can be good and fresh in the morning for my test!

Hi, Brock. I found your blog through a Google search and have been reading for a the last little while. I really like what you write--I'm very interested in your subject matter.

I have read every post, but I'm not so good at commenting. Keep up the good work! I find that only a very small percentage of people comment vs. how many people read.

(BTW, I'm Ranleigh Johnson's daugther-in-law. He mentioned he knew you when I was telling him about your blog.)

Brock

I have slowly been reading you blog and I find it very interesting. I dont generally comment on peoples posts to much, but just know I do keep up on your postings.

My name is Crystal and I currently live in Taylorsville. Mother to 2 children and wife to my best friend.

Good luck with the book. I am more than happy to be a "test reader" if you want an opinion of someone you dont know.

So just from those two of you that I hadn't heard from before, I got the idea that perhaps the readership is more of a foodie orientation, not so orthodox Mormon as I had thought. This is important to know. I had this notion that people were using food as a devotional reinforcement of their testimony of pioneer ancestors. Instead, maybe its more of an interest in food, as though pioneer food is just another foreign cuisine. Good to know!
